The Maharashtra government is unlikely to lift the lockdown-like curbs in the state just after June 1 considering the fact that the COVID-19 positivity price was more than 10 per cent in 21 districts, overall health minister Rajesh Tope mentioned on Thursday.
However, relaxation in statewide restrictions, in force till June 1 to stem the spread of coronavirus, can be offered in locations exactly where the case positivity price is much less, he mentioned.
Talking to reporters just after a cabinet meeting, Tope mentioned an elaborate presentation on the COVID-19 circumstance was made throughout the meet and it revealed the case positivity price (percentage of men and women testing positive amongst these tested) was more than 10 per cent in 21 districts (out of 36 districts).
“The cabinet felt it wasn’t right to lift the curbs presently in force altogether,” he mentioned, adding relaxation can be offered in locations exactly where positivity price is much less.
Meanwhile, power minister Nitin Raut mentioned the problem of filling up vacancies in the reserved category for promotions in government jobs will be discussed at a meeting of a cabinet sub-committee, to be chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, scheduled on June 1.
