In the wake of unprecedented rise in the quantity of Coronavirus instances in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced weekend lockdown in the national capital today. The announcement was created by Kejriwal immediately after he concluded his meeting with the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on the Covid-19 predicament in the city. CM Kejriwal had so far maintained that no second lockdown will be imposed in the city even as stress mounted on him with constant raise in the quantity of day-to-day Coronavirus instances in the city.
As per the announcement created by CM Kejriwal, the weekend lockdown will stay in force till the day-to-day quantity of Coronavirus instances stabilise in the city. During the weekend lockdown all important markets, buying malls and other industrial centres will stay closed with an exception for vital services. CM Kejriwal even though announcing the selection mentioned that passes will be issued to these working in vital services sector to allow unhindered operations throughout the weekend lockdown. CM Kejriwal additional mentioned that all shopping malls, gyms, spas and auditoriums will stay closed in the city whereas cinema halls will only operate at 30 % capacity throughout the weekend lockdown.
In one more essential selection, the CM also mentioned that throughout the weekend lockdown, people today will not be permitted to dine inside the restaurants. However, he clarified that household deliveries will be permitted even throughout the weekend lockdown.

CM Kejriwal also mentioned that there is no shortage of Covid-19 beds in the city at present and mentioned as per the most up-to-date data there are more than 5000 vacant Covid-19 beds in the city.
CM Kejriwal along with major officials earlier met LG Anil Baijal to go over the Covid-19 predicament and finalised the modalities of the weekend lockdown in the city. CM Kejriwal and other ministers of the government had so far maintained that lockdown will not be imposed in the city once again as it would adversely influence the trade and economy. However, as the instances elevated at a skyrocketing speed, the government had to bite the bullet of imposing weekend lockdown.
