Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist at the World Health Organisation (WHO), is amongst a worldwide group of 20 professionals who make up a new UK-led Pandemic Preparedness Partnership (PPP), which is meeting on Tuesday as portion of international efforts to save lives from future ailments.
The PPP is chaired by UK Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, and has the remit to report to world leaders at June’s UK-hosted G7 Summit in Cornwall. The public-private partnership brings with each other sector, international organisations and major professionals to provide suggestions for delivering ambitious targets to more promptly create vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics via higher international cooperation on study and improvement, manufacturing, clinical trials and information-sharing.
