On Wednesday, Aftab known as an all-party meeting on Friday (April 16) following directions to the Calcutta High Court to the CEO and all district magistrates in the state to guarantee strict implementation of coronavirus protocol through campaigning for the remaining 4 phases of the state election. He stated all political parties in the state have been asked to send only one representative each and every for the meeting which will go over matters associated to the campaigning for the final 4 phases of the poll. The poll officer stated that there will be discussions on the norms of social distancing and relevant Covid-19 protocol.
The nation is witnessing a sharp spike in coronavirus circumstances with day-to-day numbers going as higher as two lakh. The reports of rise in circumstances are coming from all the states. To break the chain of viruses, it is critical to stop persons from gathering in big numbers. However, it was observed that the social distancing norms had been openly flouted through the political campaign in Bengal, which is in the midst of polls. West Bengal was scheduled to go to polls in eight phases. Four phases have concluded whilst rest 4 will take location on April 17, 22, 26 and 29.
Soon just after the state chief election officer known as for an all-party meet, there was speculation that the commission may well combine the final 3 phases into one and can conduct the final phase on April 24. However, more clarity will emerge only just after the meeting on Friday. But the TMC MP’s tweet saying the ruling party did not want a prolonged election in the 1st location may possibly be observed by some that there may possibly be talks on cutting brief the election and finish it by April 24.
State extra director basic of police (Law and Order) Jag Mohan and state well being secretary N S Nigam will also be present at the meeting known as by the State Election Commission tomorrow.
