Washington:
The U.S. government will call for all airline passengers arriving from the United Kingdom to test unfavorable for COVID-19 inside 72 hours of departure beginning Monday amid issues about a new coronavirus variant that might be more transmissible.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated in a statement late on Wednesday that all airline passengers arriving from the UK should test unfavorable in order to fly to the United States. The choice was a turnaround soon after the Trump administration told U.S. airlines on Tuesday it was not arranging to call for any testing for arriving UK passengers.
