A Tacoma Police automobile plowed by way of a group of pedestrians swarming it, knocking various individuals to the pavement, following authorities responded to reports of drag racers in the Washington city’s downtown, on the net video showed early on Sunday.
One individual was hurt, despite the fact that the severity of the injuries was unclear, according to neighborhood media.
The brief video, which was shot by an onlooker just ahead of 7 p.m. neighborhood time on Saturday and later posted on the net, shows automobiles with squealing tires turning donuts on downtown streets. Then the Tacoma Police patrol car or truck – surrounded by individuals – surges forward, knocking roughly 5 individuals to the ground ahead of driving off.
Tacoma Police spokeswoman Wendy Haddow stated police have been alerted to the street racers and a one hundred-individual crowd blocking region streets, according to the News Tribune. When the patrol car or truck responded, the crowd started pounding on the vehicle’s windows, she told neighborhood media.
“He was afraid they would break his glass,” Haddow told the News Tribune, saying the officer sped away from the scene for his personal security.
One individual was injured in the incident and taken to a neighborhood hospital, she stated.
Haddow did not straight away respond to a Reuters request for comment.
