It was on this day in 2017, India batsman Rohit Sharma recorded his third double century in One Day Internationals. The opener went on to score 208 runs against Sri Lanka at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali in the match held on December 13, 2017.
With 13 fours and 12 sixes, Rohit scripted a total score of 208 against the Lankans which helped India set a target of 392/4 in 50 overs. The Men in Blue won the match by 141 runs.
Rohit has scored two double hundreds against Sri Lanka and one particular against Australia in ODIs. The appropriate-handed batsman is the only cricketer to smash 3 double hundred in ODI history.

The board also stated that Rohit has been provided a detailed programme to adhere to for the duration of the two weeks he will be quarantined for. Rohit will be reassessed by the Team India health-related group post his quarantine to establish his fitness status and a get in touch with on his participation in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be taken accordingly.
The opening batsman will be out there only for the third and fourth Test of the series, as he will full his quarantine period midway through the second Test.
India and Australia are set to lock horns in the 4-match Test series, starting December 17 in Adelaide. The initial match of the series will be played beneath lights at the Adelaide Oval.
