Schools in Tamil Nadu will reopen on January 19 for students from Class 10 and 12 with COVID-19 security norms, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami mentioned today. The choice has been taken in favour of the students who are due to seem in the upcoming board examinations, he mentioned.
“95 per cent of parents want schools to reopen. Only 25 students will be allowed in each class,” he mentioned.
He added that immunity boosting tablets will be distributed to students at schools.
The administration of various schools had requested the education division to let them to reopen ahead of annual exams so that students can do a final revision.
Thousands of schools across the nation have been shut because the pandemic reached India early final year and a lockdown was enforced. Many have began reopening only in current instances.
Tamil Nadu has 18,894 active COVID-19 instances, 7,13,584 recoveries and 11,344 deaths, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.
