Los Angeles:
Three males have been charged with attempted murder and robbery on Thursday in the theft of singer Lady Gaga’s dogs in February, authorities mentioned, a crime that saw her dog walker shot on a street in Hollywood.
The suspects are 3 males ages 18, 19 and 27, and two have been also charged with assault, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s workplace mentioned in a statement.
“This was a brazen street crime that left a man seriously wounded,” District Attorney George Gascon was quoted as saying, underscoring the “very serious” nature of the case.
The 3, described by Los Angeles police as “documented gang members,” allegedly approached Lady Gaga’s dog walker Ryan Fischer even though he was out with the singer’s French bulldogs close to Sunset Boulevard on February 24.
Two suspects got out of a car and demanded Fischer hand more than the pets at gunpoint. He was shot as soon as in a struggle with the two males who fled with two of the dogs, Koji and Gustav, police mentioned.
A third dog, Miss Asia, ran away throughout the encounter prior to returning to the wounded Fischer, and was later recovered by law enforcement at the scene.
Police mentioned they never think the suspects targeted the dogs since of their popular owner, but since French bulldogs are a coveted breed that can sell for thousands of dollars.
Two other suspects, regarded accomplices by prosecutors, include things like a 50-year-old lady who turned the pets more than to police two days just after the theft.
She mentioned she had located them in the street, just after Lady Gaga had provided a $500,000 reward for their protected return.
Authorities mentioned the fifth suspect had a relationship with the 50-year-old lady and was the father of one of the 3 attackers.
