In the prior session, headline indices ended flat immediately after scaling fresh peaks. BSE Sensex closed with marginal losses at 55,944, when NSE Nifty 50 ended with only marginal gains, up .06 per cent at 16,634. Asian stock markets have been trading with losses in early trade on Thursday, even as US stocks ended at record higher levels. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose marginally, when the Topix traded under the flatline. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 fell .4 per cent. In overnight trade on Wall Street, S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite notched all-time closing highs ahead of Jackson Hole Symposium . The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose .11 per cent, the S&P 500 gained .22 per cent, and the Nasdaq Composite .15 per cent.
