As the nine-day Navratri celebrations came to finish on Sunday, a Ravana effigy burning ceremony in Punjab went awry when the figure exploded. Now, a video of the incident is broadly becoming shared on the net, which includes WhatsApp.
At a Dusshera occasion held at a ground close to DAV School in Batala, the effigy quickly caught fire and exploded, nearly resulting in a stampede as onlookers ran away in worry.
In the video, a group of persons was walking towards the effigy to set it ablaze. And quickly, the firecrackers packed inside the effigy go off in speedy succession. Luckily, no one particular was injured the incident, according to neighborhood reports.

According to PTC News, the group was led by Congress leader and former MLA Ashwani Sekhri along with the Dussehra Committee and neighborhood leaders.
Sekhri fell to the ground but was rescued by the locals, BBC Punjabi reported.
On Vijayadashami, Ramlila performances are organised, particularly in the northern portion of the nation, throughout which, effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakaran are burnt, so as to represent victory of great more than poor.
