Lahore: Firdous Begum, the renowned Pakistani veteran actress who shot to fame for her iconic function in 1970’s film ‘Heer Ranjha’, passed away right here on Wednesday. She was 73.
Firdous was shifted to a hospital right here on Tuesday due to a brain hemorrhage exactly where she breathed her final right here on Wednesday, according to her household.
A major lady of Pakistani films from 1970s to 1980s, Firdous began her film profession in 1963 with a film ‘Fanoos’ in which she had a supporting function.
She got a break from film ‘Malangi’ in 1965 and thereafter there was no seeking back. Her iconic function in ‘Heer Ranjha’ produced her the most sought-immediately after actress in 1970s. Firdous performed in more than 150 Punjabi, Urdu and Pashto films.
She married to fellow actor Akmal Khan who died in 1967. Later she married actor Ijaz Durani who played the male lead in ‘Heer Ranjha.’ She is survived by her 3 young children, two sons and a daughter.
