Ola on Wednesday announced that it has partnered with Siemens to make its Rs 2,400 crore electric automobile manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The agreement with Siemens will equip Ola to digitise specific operations and all the manufacturing processes in the plant, making certain far better productivity.
The factory that Ola claims will be the biggest scooter manufacturing facility in the planet will create close to 10,000 jobs and have an initial capacity to create 2 million units a year. It will serve as Ola’s international manufacturing hub catering to its shoppers in India as nicely as important markets across Europe, UK, Latin America and ANZ, the firm stated in a statement.
“These advanced technology systems will seamlessly blend with Ola’s workforce to provide the perfect synergy of humans and machines working in tandem,” the firm stated.
In December final year, Ola had signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to set up the facility in Hosur.
The complete material handling at the factory will be completely automated, beginning from raw components, components movement inside the factory, to storage and completed scooter rolling off the production lines and becoming loaded onto trucks. Ola stated it will get access to Siemens’ integrated Digital Twin style and manufacturing options to digitalise and validate item and production ahead of actual operations.
