The actor, who is identified for his ‘Left of the Centre’ political views, came below attack lately when he posted a video in assistance of Anna University Vice Chancellor M K Surappa against whom the AIADMK Government has initiated an inquiry by a retired High Court judge. The Government mentioned it had ordered the inquiry upon getting complaints of corruption and nepotism against Surappa, who incidentally figures amongst top rated worldwide scientists.
Haasan came out in defence of Surappa and questioned if he was becoming created Tamil Nadu’s Nambi Narayanan (former Kerala ISRO scientist who came clean in a spy case) for refusing to let corruption. Incidentally Dravidian parties and the Left had dubbed Surappa, who hails from Karnataka, an RSS man ever considering that he was appointed by Governor Banwarilal Purohit two years ago. There has been no proof to prove the claim although.
Against this backdrop, critics have accused Haasan of supporting a RSS-BJP appointee. They claimed that Haasan has entered electoral politics to split the anti-establishment votes to protect against the DMK from coming to energy in 2021. Haasan, nonetheless, responded to the charge by saying that if standing by these who opposed corruption meant he was a “right-winger” or “Sanghi”, so be it. Meanwhile, the actor hit the ground in Madurai on Sunday launching his early election campaign.
