The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has inked an agreement with MapmyIndia to create mapping and other place-based services in the nation. The initiative taken by ISRO in collaboration with MapmyIndia could prove to be an option to Google maps which has a monopoly in the mapping services in the nation, reported. The MapmyIndia CEO Rohan Verma was quoted as saying that the indigenous business will play a accountable function in the field and depict the maps and borders which reflect India’s accurate sovereignty as per the Government of India.
Verma also mentioned that the move would support the business integrate the large catalogue of ISRO’s satellite imagery and earth observation information to provide more detailed and extensive mapping options to the folks of the nation.
