BHOPAL: The Gunga police registered a case against unidentified men and women on Thursday for duping men and women by means of chit fund corporations positioned in Bhopal and Indore. One of the corporations has duped villagers for more than Rs 4 crore when the other by more than Rs 80 lakh. The accused would guarantee hefty returns on investments in their corporations to the villagers.
Gunga police station property officer Ramesh Rai mentioned firm Zeelife India Developers and Colonisers Limited was positioned at Old Palasia in Indore. The owners of the firm by means of its agents convinced the villagers to deposit revenue for returns. The firm duped them for more than Rs 4 crore amongst 2012 and 2017, prior to the owners disappeared.
The second firm HBM Dairies and Allied Limited, positioned at Vinayak Complex in Zone 2 of MP Nagar, duped the villagers of Rs 80 lakh from 2008 and 2013. The villagers had been duped by means of agents who had been their relatives and hence they had been hoping of having their revenue back without having police intervention.
As the agents involved in the scam had been relatives of the victims, they did not lodge police complaint for more than seven years in a case, hoping they will get their revenue back. After they failed to trace the accused who are not reachable on their numbers and their registered addresses, the villagers lodged a complaint in December 2020. An FIR was registered in the case on Thursday.
