BHOPAL: The government has decided to spend greater rates than the market place worth for the plots of land to be acquired for Metro projects in Bhopal and Indore. At a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, it was decided that the compensation would be a lot more than the collector’s suggestions so that land could be acquired via consensus with the plot owners.
However, the meeting also resolved that these not prepared to give land via consensus will face action below the Land Acquisition Act, 2013. The Cabinet choice will advantage landowners, these carrying out building work, encroachers, non-title holders and kiosk owners. According to the choice, authorised officials will make a proposal for acquiring land. If the landowner does not agree with that, action will be taken below the Land Acquisition Act.
New developing for Hamidia
The Cabinet also authorized a sum of Rs479 crore for building of a new developing on the premises of Hamidia Hospital. The grant for building of a 300-bed hospital in Shivpuri have been enhanced from Rs202 to Rs223 crore. The funds offered to Hamidia Hospital will be utilized for installing anti-quake and anti-fire systems there.
As the service centres have been closed due to the fact of the lockdown, the period of contract of staff has been extended for 3 months.
The Cabinet also ratified the reduction in the bar licence charge for the lockdown period and authorized collection of toll by the Road Development Corporation from 13 roads and for maintaining contractors via pick agencies for it.
Direct poll of mayors, Nagar Palika heads
The Cabinet authorized the Bill to be place up in the ensuing House session for direct election of mayors and heads of Nagar Palika. It also authorized collection of house tax on the basis of collector’s suggestions.
