Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Drishyam that released in 2015 had blown the audience away with its gripping storyline and unexpected climax. The film helmed by Nishikant Kamat was the remake of the 2013 Malayalam-language film of the exact same name. Now the makers of the original Drishyam have released its sequel. Naturally, the Hindi audience is excited to know if the makers of Ajay and Tabu are also arranging to make its sequel. And appears like we may well get to see Ajay and Tabu reunite for Drishyam 2.
According to the Pinkvilla report, filmmaker Kumar Mangat has purchased the rights to Drishyam 2. Interestingly he had also developed the Hindi version of Drishyam.
Mohanlal’s Drishyam 2 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 19. The audience and critics have praised the sequel and look like pretty quickly we will get to watch the Hindi version of Drishyam 2, as the Malayalam film’s rights have been currently sold.
Revealing about Kumar Mangat acquiring the rights of Drishyam 2, a supply was quoted saying in Pinkvilla as, “Drishyam is a pretty unique film for Kumar ji and he wanted to make positive that he bags the rights of Drishyam 2 as properly. However, there is no clarity on who will direct and act in the Hindi version of Drishyam 2. ” So the rights of Drishyam 2 have been purchased by Kumar Mangat. However, the makers are however to choose if the old cast will reprise their part in the Hindi version of Drishyam 2. Drishyam that featured Ajay, Tabu and Shriya Saran was helmed by Nishikant Kamat. Unfortunately, the Kamat passed away final year just after suffering from chronic liver illness.
Whereas, some reports are suggesting that Jeetu Joseph, who helmed the original Drishyam and its sequel may well direct the sequel of the Hindi version as properly. And although it is not official however, but we may well see Tabu, Ajay, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutt return with the sequel. Hope Kumar Mangat tends to make an announcement quickly.
