Private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank on Tuesday stated it will be providing a ‘fitness allowance’ to its personnel for their well being and wellness.
The personnel will have to share their well being and fitness targets with the bank to get the month-to-month fitness allowance, it stated in a statement.
The bank has also classified employees’ roles as complete-time or partially remote operating ones, and will be providing a ‘remote operating allowance’ as per their role’s classification, it stated.
Many personnel, specially these not operating in branches, have been operating from dwelling either complete time or partially considering the fact that the onset of the pandemic in March this year.
While operating from dwelling in what are sedentary jobs, the personnel have to rely on devoted gear for connectivity and also take care of their well being.
The bank stated the two allowances have been introduced to give a increase to employees’ well being and wellness in the new normal and will be applicable from December 1 onward.
“The new normal has brought with it a unique set of challenges. In a work-from-home environment, it’s been seen that work-life balance is getting impacted, and we give utmost importance to employee well being – physical and emotional, always,” its group chief human sources officer Sukhjit Pasricha stated.
The bank has been conducting a variety of activities to help the well being and all round well-being of personnel to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the statement stated.
