Jerusalem:
Two rockets launched from Lebanon struck Israel on Wednesday, the Israeli military mentioned, adding that it fired artillery into Lebanese territory in response to the attack.
Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service mentioned there have been no casualties on the Israeli side of the frontier. It posted a photograph on Twitter displaying smoke increasing from a field.
Sirens warning of a rocket attack sounded in quite a few Israeli communities, like the town of Kiryat Shmona, close to the Lebanese border.
In a statement, the military mentioned 3 rockets have been launched from Lebanon, with one falling quick of the Israeli border and the other individuals striking inside Israel. Witnesses in Lebanon also reported that quite a few rockets have been fired at Israel.
“In response, (Israeli) artillery forces attacked Lebanese territory,” the military mentioned.
The border has been largely quiet because Israel fought a 2006 war against Hezbollah guerrillas, who have sway in southern Lebanon and sophisticated rockets.
But little Palestinian factions in Lebanon have fired sporadically on Israel in the previous, and two rockets have been launched at Israel on July 20, causing no harm or injuries. Israel responded to that incident with artillery fire.
