The 5.56×30 mm Protective Carbine, which has been created by the Defence, Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) cleared the final phase of user trials earlier this week. According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), through the trials all the GSQR parameters have been met with, hence, clearing the way for the Joint Venture Protective Carbine (JVPC) to be inducted into the services. The trials have been carried out below intense temperatures in each summer time and higher altitudes through winter, and also met with all the overall performance criteria of reliability and accuracy. It also passed the high quality trials which have been carried out by the DGQA.

According to the info shared by the Ministry of Defence, the PVPC is a Gas Operated Semi Bull-pup automatic weapon. It comes with more than 700 rpm price of fire.
The variety of the carbine is more than one hundred m, weighing about 3. kg.
It has attributes higher reliability, low recoil, retractable Butt, ergonomic style, single hand firing capability, and several Picatinny rails and so on.

The Ammunition is manufactured at ammunition Factory, Kirkee Pune.
The 5.56 x 30 mm JVPC was unveiled by the defence Minister Rajnath Singh earlier this year through the DefExpo.
