OpenAI’s generative AI-based viral sensation ChatGPT has been used for a variety of purposes since its launch in November last year, but none as unique as this. A restaurant owner used the popular AI chatbot to design the perfect Father’s Day pizza, and surprisingly, the pizza was a hit with customers of all ages.
According to a report by The Mercury News, a food outlet called Tony & Alba’s Pizza & Pasta in San Jose, California, cleverly used ChatGPT to design the Father’s Day pizza The report explained that restaurant co-owner Al Vallorz is always looking for an edge to keep his customers interested and coming back for more.
The perfect Father’s Day pizza:
With Father’s Day just around the corner, AL Vallorz still hadn’t decided on its June pizza menu. So the restaurant owner turned to ChatGPT for help, asking the popular chatbot to “Design a Father’s Day pizza”.

ChatGPT quickly came up with the recipe for the perfect Father’s Day pizza, which included Pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sliced sausage links, bacon, Memphis barbecue sauce, red onions, cilantro as ingredients.
The popular chatbot avoided many controversies in its answer. For example, it avoided pineapple as a pizza topping, and also steered clear of the ever-present thin-crust vs. thick-crust debate by simply referring to the crust in the recipe as ‘pizza crust’.
Tony & Alba’s Pizza & Pasta launched the new ChatGPT-designed pizza on May 25 and will be available to customers throughout June. The dish has been dubbed the ‘Futuristic Pizza’, but most customers have preferred to call it the ‘AI Pizza’.
The young customers of the outlet are trying the pizza because it was designed by an AI, while the old ones love it for the taste. The AI Pizza has even been given the go-ahead by the restaurant’s 84-year-old founder, Alba Salciccia, who described it as ‘very good’.
