Mumbai:
Actor Kangana Ranaut violated the sanctioned program whilst merging her 3 flats, a civil court has remarked whilst rejecting her plea in search of to restrain the Mumbai civic body from demolishing the unauthorized building.
A court in suburban Dindoshi dismissed an application filed by Ms Ranaut final week. The detailed order became readily available on Thursday.
Judge L S Chavan noted in the order that Ms Ranaut, who owns 3 flats on the fifth floor of a 16-storey constructing in Khar region of the city, merged them into one particular.
In carrying out so, she covered the sunk region, duct region, prevalent passage and converted cost-free Floor Space Index (FSI) into habitable region, the judge observed.
“These are grave violation of the sanctioned plan for which the permission of the competent authority is required,” the court stated.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had in March 2018 issued a notice to the actor for “unauthorized constructions” at her Khar flats.
Another notice asked her to restore the structure to its original position as per the original program, warning that otherwise the unauthorized portion will be demolished.
Ms Ranaut challenged the demolition notice and requested the court to restrain the civic body from carrying out demolition. The court had then ordered status-quo.
In the most recent order on December 23 judge Chavan rejected the actor’s application, saying the “interference of this court is not required”.
However, the court has provided her six weeks to method the Bombay High Court against the order.
On September 9, the BMC had demolished components of Ms Ranaut’s bungalow in the Pali Hill region for alleged “unauthorized” building. She moved the High Court against it.
The higher court later termed the BMC’s action as illegal and malicious.
