Berlin:
German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday unveiled plans to steadily ease virus curbs in Europe’s best economy, caving to stress from regional leaders and the public for more freedom immediately after months of shutdowns.
Declaring a “new phase” in the pandemic, Merkel stated more socialising among households would be permitted from Monday.
Book shops, flower shops and garden centres will also reopen nationwide. Further reopenings will be closely tied to neighborhood infection prices, she stated immediately after talks with state premiers.
