Jaipur/New Delhi:
The raging farmers’ agitation about the national capital could lead to a nationwide bird flu dilemma because the protesters are consuming chicken biriyani to spread the epidemic, a BJP legislator from Rajasthan has stated. In a video carrying out the rounds on social media, Ramganj Mandi MLA Madan Dilawar is also noticed saying that these who are conspiring to build such a crisis in the nation could be “terrorists, robbers, and thieves”.
Attacking the farmer protesters, Mr Dilawar says in the video that the protesting farmers are not providing a believed to the nation or its persons. The protest is only a picnic, he says.
“They are merely relishing biriyani. They are eating kaju-badam (dry fruits). They are enjoying in all ways. They are changing their appearances frequently. There could be many terrorists among them. Thieves and looters, too. They could be the enemies of farmers,” Mr Dilawar says.
“I suspect that if the government does not remove them in the next few days, either by pleading or by use of force, then the country will face the problem of bird flu,” he stated.

Mr Dilawar’s comments sparked robust criticism from political rivals and otherwise. Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, for instance, stated yesterday that these comments “showcase the BJP’s thinking”.
Referring to the comments as “shameful”, Mr Dotasra tweeted asking, “Are you calling this movement of the food-providers, of those who feed you, a picnic, and responsible for bird flu?”
Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan have been camped in and about Delhi in decrepit circumstances for the previous quite a few weeks. They have been protesting against 3 not too long ago-passed farm laws perceived to be dangerous to them.
While numerous volunteers and NGOs have stepped in to enable the protesters with meals, water, shelter, and sanitation, a quantity of farmer groups themselves have been guaranteeing supplies such as meals grain, oil, and biscuits.
Earlier, as well, visuals had been circulated on social media alleging that the farmers had been relishing biriyani at the protest internet sites about Delhi. The protesters have also been named “Khalistanis” by detractors.
The Rajasthan MLA’s comments come at a time when numerous states in the nation, such as Kerala, Rajasthan, and Haryana have reported an outbreak of avian flu.
