Ex-policeman Eric Adams was on track Tuesday to turn out to be New York’s next mayor soon after the city’s elections authorities released new outcomes displaying he had maintained his lead in the Democratic principal.
The 60-year-old Brooklyn borough president claimed victory soon after the Board of Elections stated he held a lead of one percentage point more than nearest rival and fellow moderate Kathryn Garcia.
The elections board web page showed Adams on 50.5 %, with 403,000 votes, and Garcia, a 51-year-old former sanitation commissioner, in second location on 49.5 % with pretty much 395,000 votes.
The board, which has made errors in the previous and which was forced to recount some outcomes last month, did not say how lots of absentee ballots had been left to count.
