The carcass of a substantial whale has been recovered from the waters off southern Italy, the coastguard stated Wednesday, calling it “probably one of the largest” ever discovered in the Mediterranean.
The dead mammal was spotted in the sea on Sunday close to the well known tourist location of Sorrento by coastguard divers who have been 1st alerted to the presence of a smaller sized whale, which has considering that disappeared into the sea.
