ChatGPT iOS app users will now be able to access the information via the Bing Search. However, the feature is only available for ChatGPT Plus users and has to be enabled via the settings.
“Plus users can now use Browsing to get comprehensive answers and current insights on events and information that extend beyond the model’s original training data.” OpenAI announced in a blog post on Tuesday
ChatGPT, based on the GPT-3.5 language model, is only capable of browsing to get information until the end of its training date somewhere in 2021. However, with the use of Bing search users will be able to get live. The integration is currently in beta for paid users and will be ‘expanded’ soon.
Microsoft had announced that ChatGPT users will be able to access answers from the web exclusively via Bing search. However, the feature wasn’t available to ChatGPT app users.
ChatGPT iOS app was made available to users in the US on May 10. Later on, OpenAI gradually made the app available in a number of other countries including India. An Android version of the ChatGPT app is still awaited and OpenAI has promised to bring the app to most used mobile platform soon.

How can users enable Bing Search on iOS app?
1) Download the ChatGPT app on your iOS device if not installed already and take a subscription to ChatGPT plus service by paying 20$ per month.
2) Enable browsing in the “new features” section of your ChatGPT app and select GPT-4 in model switcher.
3) Choose ‘Browse with Bing’ in the drop-down menu.
4) You should be able to get access to get answers to queries regarding the latest events with the Bing search.
OpenAI also announced the new shared links feature on Tuesday. Users will be able to share their conversations with others via a shared link. The feature is currently only available to alpha testers and is expected to be rolled out to all users free of charge in the coming weeks.
