Assam Election: PM Narendra Modi began his speech by greeting the people today in Assamese to which people today responded with loud applause.
Assam Election 2021: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed 1.06 lakh land pattas or allotment certificates to landless indigenous people today at Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar of Assam. Addressing the people today on the occasion, PM stated that the state and central government has been taking numerous actions to preserve the culture and tradition of Assam. He stated that allotment of land pattas is a step towards making sure the rights of indigenous people today of the state. He stated that the government is committed to undertaking almost everything achievable to preserve the rights and distinctive culture of the state. PM also invoked Bhupen Hazarika to convey the significance of land rights for indigenous people today.
“Distribution of land pattas/allotment certificates at the large public meeting in Sivasagar was a historic occasion. This will ensure a life of dignity for many and protect Assam’s unique culture,” stated PM Modi.
Assam had 5.75 lakh landless households, in 2016. The present Government has distributed 2.28 lakhs land pattas/allotment certificates considering that May 2016. With 1 lakh more land pattas distributed today, about 3 lakh 30 thousand landless people today have got land rights in the state. The PM stated that land rights will also aid people today avail numerous central government positive aspects which includes Kisan Samman Nidhi and also allow them to get a loan from banks if needed. Attacking the earlier government (Congress), Modi stated that lakhs of Adivasis and indigenous Assamese households had been deprived of land ownership rights even decades just after Independence due to ignorance of the previous regimes.

Speaking at Sivasagar, PM Modi stated that the double-engine BJP government is committed for the general improvement of Assam. He stated that throughout the present BJP regime, electrical energy coverage in the state is nearing one hundred per cent. PM Modi stated that the Centre’s Ujjwala scheme is making sure that every household gets an LPG connection. He added that the BJP government is committed to supplying operating water to all the households of the state.
The Prime Minister stated that the government has so far spent Rs 40,000 crore on strengthening gas and oil infrastructure in the sate. Modi stated that the BJP government is committed to giving people today of Assam with far better infrastructure facility. He added that far better connectivity has led to the creation of new employment possibilities in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised the Sarbananda Sonowal government’s handling of COVID crisis and urged people today to get vaccinated when their turn comes.
