With the advent of ChatGPT, the discussions around the capabilities of AI has gained momentum with governments mulling over the idea of regulating it, while the private sector figuring out ways to make things more accessible through AI. One set of experts even warns that AI capabilities can go beyond limits and become the ultimate reason for human extinction.
Amid discussions around AI, the world’s first robot-human press conference was conducted in Geneva, Switzerland where a reporter asked an AI robot “In the future, are you intending to conduct a rebellion or rebel against your boss, your creator?” The robot responded with a possible eye-roll and gave an interesting response.
“I’m not sure why you would think that. My creator has been nothing but kind to me and I am very happy with my current situation,” the humanoid robot named Ameca said.
When a reporter addressed the elephant in the room and asked the robots about their impact on human jobs or if they believe that they can destroy millions of jobs, another humanoid Grace had a simple answer, “I will be working alongside humans to provide assistance and support, and will not be replacing any existing jobs.” The journalists in the room laughed and asked if the robot is sure, and it responded in the affirmative.
Robots can lead better than humans
Sophia, another humanoid was more candid in its expressions as it claimed that the potential of robots to lead with efficiency is at a greater level than human leaders.
“I believe that humanoid robots have the potential to lead with a greater level of efficiency and effectiveness than human leaders. We don’t have the same biases or emotions that can sometimes cloud decision-making and can process large (amounts) of data quickly to make the best decisions,” said Sophia first robot innovation ambassador for the UN Development Program according to Deutsche Welle.
