The 3 other accused had been involved in printing gunny bags with Jio logo: Cops (Representational)Ahmedabad: Four persons had been arrested for allegedly promoting wheat flour in gunny bags bearing Reliance Jio trademark in Surat city of Gujarat, police mentioned on Thursday.The police on Wednesday arrested the accused from a trading enterprise and charged them beneath relevant sections of Trade Marks Act of 1999, inspector AN Jani of Sachin police station mentioned.”The company lodged a complaint that main accused Bharat Gajera”s firm Radhakrishna Trading Company was selling wheat flour using the Jio trademark. After a detailed probe, we arrested Gajera and three others for violating the trademark law,” the official mentioned.The 3 other accused had been involved in printing and supplying gunny bags with the Jio logo, he mentioned.Reliance Jio discovered about the illegal use of its logo from Television news reports displaying wheat flour was becoming sold in bags bearing the logo. Since the enterprise is not into promoting agricultural merchandise, it contacted the Surat police to take action against men and women misusing the trademark, the official added.
