The 22-year-old son of the owner of a common eatery in Srinagar lost an 11-day-extended fight for survival yesterday just after an attack by terrorists. Akash Mehra succumbed to his injuries in the hospital yesterday. He was shot from point-blank variety on February 17 just after militants barged into the busy eatery. They went straight to the money counter and shot Mehra in the abdomen.
The eatery comes below the hugely guarded Sonawar neighbourhood of Srinagar. The region has been shut because the February 17 attack. According to a report in , Akash was place on life assistance just after his situation deteriorated on Thursday at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital, exactly where he was undergoing therapy.
A medical doctor at the hospital mentioned that two bullets pierced his lungs and exited from the back, inflicting serious harm to his lung and rendering important well being situations.
Police has so far arrested 3 males in connection with the attack. The males admitted to getting carried out the attack on the instruction of South Kashmir-based Lashkar-e-Toiba.
