Ever noticed a residence moving down a street? This Sunday morning in San Francisco, hundreds of onlookers cheered as a historic Victorian residence rolled down to its new address in a jaw-dropping scene. According to news web page SF Gate, the 139-year-old residence was loaded on a hydraulic dolly operated by remote handle which then moved it down seven blocks to its new place.
The 1880 Italianate-style residence with a green exterior was noticed rolling gradually down Franklin Street, exactly where it stood for 139 years, to Fulton, exactly where it now rests next to an old mortuary. The six-bedroom, 3-bath property, identified as Englander House, rolled to its new address at the speed of 1mph.

One such video has amassed more than 27,000 views on Twitter, though many more have cropped up on other social media platforms like Facebook and Reddit.
“One of those things your eyes see and your brain absolutely refuses to take in. A building. Moving down the road,” wrote one individual in the comments section. “Incredible! What an engineering feat,” a different stated.
The house’s journey has been eight years in the generating. According to The Guardian, trees have been trimmed, parking meters have been ripped up and energy lines removed to prepare for the journey.
The plot in Franklin Street exactly where Englander House when sat will now turn into the web page of a new apartment complicated. Meanwhile, the historic residence and the mortuary will be combined into a new improvement.
