Actor and writer Zeishan Quadri has been booked for allegedly cheating a producer of Rs 1. 5 crores. The producer had invested funds in a net series which Qadari was supposedly generating for an OTT platform. According to ANI report, Mumbai Police has now registered an FIR against Quadri primarily based on the complaint filed by the producer.
ANI reported that the case was filed against Quadri in Mumbai’s Amboli police station beneath section 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust). The producer in his complaint stated that he and his other pal had invested funds in a net series which Quadri was generating.
“A complaint has been registered beneath the Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust), following a co-producer, Jatin Sethi filed a police complaint against him for cheating him with his finances of Rs 1.5 crore which he and his yet another pal had invested in a net series which Quadri was supposedly generating for one particular OTT Platform,“The police told ANI.
The complaint additional stated that on the due date of the returning the funds, Quadri failed to do so. However, he gave a handful of checks but they bounced. Following the producer filed a complaint against him which has now been converted into an FIR.
On the function front, Quadri has co-written and starred in Anurag Kashyap’s common film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. Recently he wrote the screenplay of ‘Chhalaang’ which starred Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha in the lead part.
